Check out these scriptures about identity fom Pastor Tehia's sermon at journeychurch.tv/identity
Revelation 12:11, NIV
They overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the Word of their testimony.
We are victorious over the enemy because of Jesus and what He has done for us.
Jesus took on all the sins for all of mankind.
How does the sacrifice of Jesus make us conquerors? Make us victorious?
How does His sacrifice give us understanding as to who we are? Make our life less of a hot mess?
We have victory because our identity is in Christ.
In order to realize who you are, you have to understand Whose you are.
Ephesians 1:3-5, NIV
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realm with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.
Ephesians 2:6, NIV
And raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus
Our victory in our identity does 3 things:
Our identity gives us authority. Our identity becomes our testimony. Our identity solidifies our destiny. 1. Our identity gives us authority.
The enemy’s goal is to make you ineffective and unproductive.
Take back the authority by:
Take your thoughts captive (2 Cor. 10:5) Speak identity out loud Declare who is Lord over your life 2. Our identity becomes our testimony.
Living out our identity becomes a testimony to Christ.
Testimony = story; life before Jesus, life after Jesus, and all the grace in-between.
The enemy knows our stories are not about us at all. They are about the power of Christ—what He is capable of, the measure in which He forgives, and the completeness of His grace.
Our stories do not expose our struggles; they glorify God’s grace.
They enemy wants you to feel alone in your struggles.
- Our identity solidifies our destiny.
The sacrifice of Jesus changes where we spend eternity.
Our position makes our reservation.
As a child of God:
Your name is written in the Book of Life (Rev. 3:5) You cannot be separated from the love of God (Rom. 8:39) You cannot be snatched out God’s hand (John 10:28)
