Super Freaky Conversations
Super Freak | Week 2
September 20, 2015 | Pastor Clark Mitchell
SFL: Super Freaks converse with God before others, more than with others, and wars aren’t won with conversations with others, but God.
SFL: The effectiveness of my public leadership is, and will be, determined by my private prayer life.
Why Should I Pray:
- SUPERNATURAL POWER
Super Freak Conversations with God:
1: APPLAUD God
Nehemiah 1:5 (NIV)
"O Lord God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and obey His command."
2: CLEAR OUT your messiness
Nehemiah 1:6-7 (NIV)
"Let your ear be attentive and your eyes be opened to the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father's house committed against you. We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands and the decrees and the laws you gave your servant Moses."
3: COUNT ON the promises of God
Nehemiah 1:8-9 (NIV) Remember the instructions you gave to your servant Moses saying `If you are unfaithful I will scatter you among the nations. But if you return to me and obey my commands then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my name."
SFL: Prayer transforms God's promises into performance!
SFL: The strength of my prayer life is determined by: HOW WELL I KNOW HIS PROMISES.
4: REMEMBER the DETAILS
Nehemiah 1:10-11 (NIV)
"They are your servants, your people, whom you've redeemed by your great strength and your mighty hand. O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this, your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man."
